Description

sound/core/seq_device.c in the Linux kernel before 4.13.4 allows local users to cause a denial of service (snd_rawmidi_dev_seq_free use-after-free and system crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted USB device.

Red Hat statement

This issue does not affect the Linux kernel packages as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, as a code with the flaw is not present in this product. This issue affects the versions of the Linux kernel as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, 7, its real-time kernel, Red Hat Enterprise MRG 2, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 for ARM 64 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 for Power 9 LE. Future Linux kernel updates for the respective releases may address this issue.
