Description

Buffer overflow in the vnc_refresh_server_surface function in the VNC display driver in QEMU before 2.4.0.1 allows guest users to cause a denial of service (heap memory corruption and process crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code on the host via unspecified vectors, related to refreshing the server display surface.

This issue does not affect the versions of kvm and xen packages as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. This issue does not affect the versions of the qemu-kvm packages as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and 7. This issue does not affect the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 based versions of qemu-kvm-rhev packages as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3. This issue does affect the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 based versions of the qemu-kvm-rhev packages as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3. Future updates for this release may address this flaw.
